Dear Friends
We do hope you are well and surviving the shocks of the last couple of months. The only racing certainty is that we will be getting our line back – we just don’t know whether it will be 2028 of 2029.
You may find the video of the very well attended meeting in the Tavistock Town Hall interestinghttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hBO5PtJmbA0&t=1519s
And the link to the Zoom TavyRAIL meeting afterwards on the 16th May https://drive.google.com/file/d/18K7evSbPyShdEWtU1-d9csTn4STFijZo/view?usp=drive_link
It is worth noting that the Town Hall meeting was not organised by us and so some of the views expressed by the panel were not those of TavyRAIL. For instance the Tavistock Plymouth line while probably stopping at St Budeaux will of course continue on into the heart of Plymouth – Plymouth Central railway station. Additionally TavyRAIL considers, with Network Rail and the Devon County Council, that the restoration of our section is absolutely essential to the restoration of the whole line. Our line needs to be as successful as the Okehampton – Exeter section if we are to prove the importance of the whole line. The creation of this business case is the last hurdle.
